Perfectly Flawed
Perfectly Flawed is the first solo art exhibition by artist Shun Hong Chan. The exhibition’s identity was designed to correlate with the theme and paintings of the exhibition.
One painting was selected as the flagship icon for the exhibition – the twist – it’s perspective lies in how the painting was presented.
At times, one needs to take another perspective to embrace beauty that’s unnoticed. Almost instinctively, viewers will turn their heads sideway upon seeing the promotional materials, instead of looking straight at them normally. Only then, does one see the beauty. The image is displayed in its ‘flawed’ yet ‘perfect’ position. Indeed, it is the flaw that completes the painting. The key identity design is coupled with a range of printed promotional materials such as invitation card, poster, catalog, postcard and signage.
The venue was yet another spot of interest. Insider’s say that the gallery under renovation had been carefully chosen, for like the theme of the exhibition, it too was ‘perfectly flawed’.
